@NKUNorseWSOC's Self earns All-Region honors
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Northern Kentucky women's soccer student-athlete
Lydia Self was named to the 2021 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Women's All-North Region Team as announced by the organization Monday afternoon.
"Congratulations to Lydia on earning this prestigious award in just her first college season." said head coach
Bob Sheehan. "This caps off an incredibly impressive first year for Lydia."
Self, a freshman from Noblesville, Indiana, took home third team honors to continue adding to her already numerous accolades from this season. She was named the Horizon League Freshman of the Year, along with earning All-League second team and All-Freshman team selections. The freshman defender earned a nod to the Horizon League All-Tournament team and also earned two Nike #HLWSOC Defensive Player of the Week honors on Sept. 13 and Sept. 20.
Self joins a long list of Norse who have earned United Soccer Coaches All-Region selections, but she is the first freshman in Northern Kentucky women's soccer history to do so.
