INDIANAPOLIS – Thursday marked the return of Horizon League play with Cleveland State and Oakland improving to 3-0 during #HLMBB play, while Wright State picked up a win in its home League opener and Northern Kentucky earned its first HL win of the season.

GAME RECAPS
Oakland 79, RMU 61
- Oakland improved to 3-0 during Horizon League play for the first time since the 2018-19 season.
- The Golden Grizzlies finished with four players in double figures led by Jamal Cain with 22 points and 14 rebounds, while Jalen Moore also posted a double-double with 15 points and 10 assists.
- RMU was paced by Kam Farris with 14 points and Jaron Williams tallied 12.
- Oakland led by just three at halftime but outscored RMU 38-23 in the second half thanks to holding the Colonials to 27.8 percent shooting over the final 20 minutes.
Wright State 80, Milwaukee 75
- Wright State won its League home opener for the third year in a row to improve to 2-1 in League play.
- WSU’s Tanner Holden led four Raiders in double figures with 22 points, while Tim Finke fell just one rebound shy of a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds.
- Milwaukee’s DeAndre Gholston led all scorers with 26 points on four 3-pointers.
- The Raiders trailed by 11 early in the second half before going on a 24-6 run to take a 68-61 advantage with five minutes remaining in regulation.
Cleveland State 90, Purdue Fort Wayne 81
- Cleveland State is 3-0 to start Horizon League play for the second-straight season.
- Five CSU players ended the game with double-digit points led by Torrey Patton nearly posting a triple-double with a game-high 21 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists. Tre Gomillion and D’Moi Hodge each added 19 points.
- Purdue Fort Wayne also had five players in double figures with Damian Chong Qui leading the charge with 18 points on 4-of-5 shooting from 3-point range. Jalon Pipkins and Deonte Billups both tallied 15 points.
- The Vikings trailed 77-70 with less than five minutes in regulation before going on a 20-4 run to end the game as they shot 6-of-8 from the floor and 6-of-8 from the free-throw line to seal the win.
Northern Kentucky 79, Green Bay 74
- The Norse picked up its first Horizon League win of the season in its HL home opener.
- Marques Warrick led four Norse double-figure scorers with 20 points, including 12 in the second half, while Trevon Faulkner posted 15 of his 19 total points in the second period.
- Kamari McGee scored a team-best 15 points for the Phoenix, followed by Emmanuel Ansong with 14 and Japannah Kellogg III with 13.
- Northern Kentucky trailed by five at the half before outscoring Green Bay 46-36 after halftime thanks to shooting 53.1 percent from the floor in the final 20 minutes.
