INDIANAPOLIS – The opening weekend of #HLMBB action concluded on Sunday with Detroit Mercy earning its second-straight HL road win with a 64-56 victory over UIC. In the win, Detroit Mercy’s Antoine Davis became the Horizon League’s all-time leader in 3-point field goals breaking the previous record of 348 set by fellow Titan Rashad Phillips.

- The Titans start Horizon League play 2-0 for the first time since the 2018-19 season.
- Davis scored a team-high 19 points with three triples to give him the HL’s all-time 3-point record to go along with five assists. Madut Akec ended the game with 18 points and eight boards for Detroit Mercy.
- Damaria Franklin was UIC’s leading scorer with 18 points and grabbed 14 rebounds for his third double-double of the season.
- The game was a tale of two halves as UIC held a 27-21 advantage at the half after holding Detroit Mercy to just over 25 percent shooting. The Titans responded by outscoring the Flames 43-29 in the second half as they shot 59.1 from the floor including 14-for-16 from the free throw line.
