INDIANAPOLIS – In the second week of #HLWBB play, Cleveland State, IUPUI and Youngstown State posted 2-0 records.

#HLWBB NEWS & NOTES

  • In this week’s College Insider Women’s Mid-Major Top 25 poll, IUPUI moved up to No. 15 while Cleveland State and Youngstown State continued to receive votes.
  • Cleveland State’s Destiny Leo continues to lead the League in scoring (and ranks third nationally) as the sophomore is averaging 24.2 points per game overall and 26.5 points per game in League play. Leo dropped a career-high 31 points in a win at NKU on Friday as the Vikings moved to 8-0 this season and 4-0 in #HLWBB play.
  • Megan Callahan averaged 16.5 points while shooting 52.2 percent from the field overall and 50 percent from 3-point range, leading Youngstown State to wins over Milwaukee and Green Bay this week to move the Penguins to 4-0 in League play and 7-0 overall this season.
  • Macee Williams averaged 16.0 points and 9.0 rebounds as IUPUI earned a pair of League road wins this week. Williams shot 59.1 percent from the floor (13-of-22) in the two games.
  • The Jaguars ranked 39 in the first NCAA NET rankings of the season, best among #HLWBB teams and also rank fifth nationally in three-point field goals per game (10.8) and third in three-point field goal percentage (41.5).
  • Milwaukee leads the League and ranks third nationally in free throw percentage as the Panthers are shooting 84.7 percent from the line this season.
  • Purdue Fort Wayne’s Shayla Sellers leads the League with a .632 field goal percentage in #HLWBB play.
  • Lindsey Duvall led Northern Kentucky with 26 points and added eight rebounds as the Norse picked up a victory over Purdue Fort Wayne on Sunday.
  • NKU’s Grayson Rose ranks eighth in the country with 3.12 blocks per game.
  • Green Bay’s Bailey Butler had the best two-game stretch of her young career over the weekend to earn Freshman of the Week honors. In a win over RMU, Butler scored 10 points and grabbed three rebounds. Then at Youngstown State, Butler scored a career-high 14 points and pulled down a career-high six rebounds.
  • Kahlaijah Dean led Oakland to a 79-58 victory at Central Michigan on Tuesday, scoring 34 points on 11-16 shooting while grabbing seven rebounds.
  • Esther Castedo leads RMU with 11.4 points per game this season.  
  • UIC’s Jaida McCloud scored 30 points on Saturday as the Flames earned their first League victory of the season at Detroit Mercy.
  • Sydney Searcy paced Detroit Mercy offensively this week as she averaged 16.0 points in League contests against IUPUI and UIC.
  • Destyne Jackson is pacing Wright State offensively with 13.2 points per game.
