2021 #HLWBB Championship Bracket Announced

INDIANAPOLIS – The bracket for the 2021 #HLWBB Championship was released on Saturday, following the completion of the regular season.
 

Wright State (15-5) and Milwaukee (15-5) are co-regular season champions. The Raiders earned the No. 1 seed through the League’s seeding formula while Milwaukee will be the No. 2 seed during the championship. The Panthers earned a 72-53 victory over UIC on Saturday to finish the regular season.

Green Bay finished the regular season 14-4, securing the No. 3 seed with a weekend sweep at Wright State, including a 61-56 victory on Saturday. Oakland (12-8) will be the No. 4 seed as the Golden Grizzlies split with Northern Kentucky in the final weekend.

IUPUI (11-3) will be the No. 5 seed and receive the final bye into the quarterfinals. The Vikings (8-8) are the No. 6 seed as they closed the regular season with a split at Youngstown State.

Youngstown State (9-7) is the No. 7 seed and Northern Kentucky (7-5) is the No. 8 seed as both teams will host first-round games along with CSU. RMU, Purdue Fort Wayne and UIC will travel for first round matchups as seeds nine through eleven.

The 2021 Horizon League Basketball Championships will begin Feb. 25 and March 2 at campus sites and eight teams – four men and four women – will look to advance to Indianapolis and #REACHtheHORIZON on March 8-9 at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum.

Every game of the tournament will be carried on ESPN networks with the first three rounds of the women’s championship streamed on ESPN+ and the championship game broadcast on ESPNU.

Thursday, Feb. 25 begins first-round action with three games as No. 6 seed Cleveland State hosts No. 11 seed UIC, No. 7 seed Youngstown State takes on No. 10 seed Purdue Fort Wayne and No. 8 seed Northern Kentucky welcomes No. 9 seed RMU.

On Tuesday March 2, the top four seeds will host quarterfinal matchups for a chance to advance to Indianapolis for the semifinals. No. 4 Oakland will host No. 5 IUPUI while the other three matchups will be set after the first round.
