INDIANAPOLIS – The 2021 #HLWBB Championship continues on Tuesday, March 2 with quarterfinal action as the top 4 seeds host seeds 5-8 to determine who will head to the semifinals in Indianapolis.

#HLWBB NEWS & NOTES
• In the Feb. 23 College Insider Women’s Mid-Major Top 25 poll, IUPUI remained No. 11, Green Bay entered the poll at No. 25 and Milwaukee and Wright State received votes.

• No. 1 seed Wright State and No. 8 seed Northern Kentucky met twice during the regular season with the Raiders taking both contests on the road, 66-50 and 63-54, on Feb. 12-13.

• Wright State is one of the top rebounding teams in the nation, ranking 13th with 43.8 per game while NKU ranks third in the League with 38.2 rebounds per game.

• Junior Angel Baker leads the Raiders in scoring (17.1 points per game), assists (2.9) and field-goal percentage (40.5 percent).

• Lindsey Duvall had a stellar game for the Norse in the first round, totaling 29 points and 14 rebounds while Kailey Coffey and Ivy Turner added 10 points each for NKU.

• No. 2 seed Milwaukee and No. 7 seed Youngstown State have not faced each other yet this season. The two teams last battled on Feb. 27, 2020 with the Panthers picking up a 59-54 win at the Klotsche Center.

• Milwaukee is only allowing opponents to shoot 35.1 percent from the field this season, best among League teams while Youngstown State ranks second in field-goal percentage offense (44.8 percent).

• Redshirt-sophomore Megan Walstad leads the Panthers and the League with 1.8 blocks per game while ranking second with 8.8 rebounds per game and scoring 12.7 points.

• Mary Dunn led the Penguins to a win over Purdue Fort Wayne in the first round, totaling 26 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double while #HLWBB Freshman of the Year Nneka Obiazor added 20 points for YSU.

• No. 3 seed Green Bay and No. 6 seed Cleveland State split their two regular season matchups in Cleveland with the Phoenix winning game one, 71-62, on Jan. 22 and the Vikings taking game two, 60-48, on Jan. 23.

• Green Bay leads #HLWBB with an assist-turnover ratio of 1.04 (14.8 assists, 14.1 turnovers) while Cleveland State ranks first in turnover margin (3.0), including totaling 9.8 steals per game.

• Green Bay’s Caitlyn Hibner ranks in the #HLWBB top ten in scoring (15.0 points) and rebounding (7.0) while also ranking third in field-goal percentage (51.5 percent).

• In Thursday’s first round, Mariah White led CSU with 21 points while Isabelle Gradwell and Nadia Dumas added 12 points each. The Vikings forced 30 UIC turnovers on the defensive end.

• No. 4 seed Oakland and No. 5 seed IUPUI will face off for the first time this season on Tuesday. The Jaguars defeated the Golden Grizzlies, 89-63, on Feb. 8, 2020 in the last meeting between the two programs.

• IUPUI boasts the top scoring offense in the League (71.7 points per game) while Oakland ranks second (69.7 points).

• Oakland’s Kahlaijah Dean ranks third among #HLWBB players in assists (4.5) and fourth in scoring (17.3).

• Three-time #HLWBB Player of the Year Macee Williams leads the League with 9.3 rebounds per game and ranks second with 17.9 points per game.
