INDIANAPOLIS – Week eight of #HLWBB play started on Friday with Oakland, Wright State and Youngstown State earning home victories while Green Bay and IUPUI picked up road victories.

Wright State 67, Milwaukee 58
  • Wright State improved to 12-3 in League play with a 67-58 home win over Milwaukee at the Nutter Center on Friday.
  • The Raiders started strong, scoring 22 points in the opening quarter while shooting 69.2 percent (9-13) in the period. WSU also had another strong performance on the boards, pulling down 41 rebounds and holding the Panthers to just 25.
  • Angel Baker led the Raiders with 27 points, shooting 50 percent from the floor and adding seven rebounds and three assists. Tyler Frierson recorded a double-double for WSU with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
  • Brandi Bisping led MKE with 13 points and nine rebounds.
Youngstown State 102, Purdue Fort Wayne 60
  • Youngstown State earned a 102-60 victory over visiting Purdue Fort Wayne at the Beeghly Center on Friday afternoon.
  • The Penguins shot 60 percent from the field in the contest, including 50 percent behind the arc, totaling 50 points in the paint and 38 bench points in the win to move to 7-4 in the standings.
  • Five YSU players scored in double figures, led by 23 points from Mary Dunn and a double-double (15 points, 11 rebounds) from McKenah Peters.
  • Aubrey Stupp led the Mastodons with 11 points and Sierra Bell added 10 points.
Green Bay 63, Northern Kentucky 56
  • Green Bay earned a 63-56 road win at Northern Kentucky on Friday afternoon, moving to 9-4 in the standings and giving NKU its first League loss of the season.
  • The Phoenix totaled 28 points in the paint, while allowing the Norse just 12. GB also scored seven points off Norse turnovers in the first quarter, building a key six-point lead after the first ten minutes of action.
  • Caitlyn Hibner led the Phoenix with 14 points and Sydney Levy chipped in 12 points for GB.
  • Lindsey Duvall posted a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds and Ivy Turner scored 12 points to lead the Norse.
IUPUI 71, UIC 52
  • IUPUI improved to 8-3 in #HLWBB play with a 71-52 road win at UIC on Friday afternoon.
  • The Jaguars outscored the Flames 25-7 in the third quarter after holding UIC to 20 points in the first half, building a 34-point lead ahead of the final period.
  • Macee Williams scored 18 points and Rachel McLimore scored 14 to lead the Jags.
  • Lindsey Rogers (14 points) and Jaida McCloud (11 points) paced the UIC offense.
Oakland 83, RMU 71
  • Oakland picked up League victory number nine on Friday, taking down RMU, 83-71 at the O’Rena.
  • After a 16-16 first quarter, the Golden Grizzlies built a four-point halftime lead (44-40) and held the Colonials to 31 points in the second half to secure the victory.
  • Kahlaijah Dean led the Golden Grizzlies with 25 points, nine rebounds and five assists while Autumn Kissman scored 18 points for OAK.
  • Four RMU players posted double figure scoring efforts in the loss.
