Nike #HLBASE Players of the Week (March 2)
INDIANAPOLIS – Youngstown State’s Turner Grau hit .471 with two extra-base hits and two RBIs in Louisiana to earn Nike #HLBASE Batter of the Week, while Wright State’s Jake Schrand struck out eight in over five innings of work and allowed just one run at No. 23 Alabama to claim Nike #HLBASE Pitcher of the Week as the Horizon League announced its baseball weekly honors on Tuesday.

Turner Grau | Youngstown State | Sophomore | Outfielder | Pittsburgh, Pa.
Grau batted .471 and slugged .647 with eight hits including a double and a triple in 17 at-bats over four games played in Louisiana this past weekend. He also recorded two runs, two RBIs, 11 total bases and two stolen bases. Grau set a new career high with three hits in five at-bats at Nicholls State on Friday, and he also scored a run. He went 1-for-3 with a single at No. 11 LSU on Friday night before collecting a double, an RBI and a stolen base against the Tigers on Saturday. The Pittsburgh, Pa., native finished the weekend by going 3-for-4 with an RBI-triple, a run scored and a stolen base in YSU’s 7-4 win at Nicholls State on Sunday.

Jake Schrand | Wright State | Junior | Right-Handed Pitcher | Cincinnati, Ohio
Schrand struck out eight batters over five-plus innings Saturday night on the way to the tough-luck 1-0 loss at No. 23 Alabama. Schrand allowed just five hits with a walk and one extra-base hit, while throwing up a pair of 1-2-3 innings, including striking out the side in the bottom of the third against Alabama’s 2-3-4 hitters.
