KANSAS CITY, Mo. (3/16/2021) -- For the third time in as many years, University of Detroit Mercy junior Antoine Davis was honored for his play on the court by the National Association of Basketball Coaches as the NABC released its All-District Teams today. Davis was then named an Associated Press Honorable Mention All-American for the first time in his career.
Davis was the only player from the Horizon League on the AP list. He was selected NABC First Team District 12 joining Loudon Love of Wright State, Jalen Moore of Oakland and Oral Roberts' Max Abmas and Kevin Obanor. He was First Team All-District 12 as a freshman and Second Team last season.
Davis ended the season leading the conference and second in the nation in scoring at 24.0 points per game. He was also top 20 in the country in several other categories including second in 3-pointers per game (3.77) and minutes played per game (38:34), fourth in free-throw percentage (91.7%), 10th in total 3-pointers (83), 14th in total points (527) and 18th in total field goals (178).
The three-time All-Horizon League guard also averaged a team-high 4.8 assists, sixth in the Horizon League and 58th in DI, to go with 1.45 steals per contest, seventh in the HL.
Davis netted double figures in scoring in all 22 games this season, running that streak to all 82 in his career, and led the Horizon League with 15, 20-point games, five 30-point outings and a conference-tying 46-point explosion in the first round of the Horizon League men's basketball championship.
In 82 collegiate basketball games, Davis is now third in school and ninth in Horizon League history with 2,040 points. He is also second in the school and HL record book with 316 career 3-pointers and 10th in Titan history with 346 assists.
