ROCHESTER, Mich. – Susan LaGrand will represent the Oakland women's swimming program at the 2021 NCAA Women's Championships March 17-20 in Greensboro, N.C. at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.

LaGrand, a junior from Grand Rapids, will compete Thursday in the 200 IM and Saturday's 200 backstroke.
LaGrand, the reigning Horizon League Athlete of the Year and Swimmer of the Meet had a great performance at the Eastern Michigan Last Chance Meet (2/26), leading to her NCAA qualifying time, setting a school record and a first place finish in the 200 back in a time of 1:53.9, shaving nearly two seconds off her previous best. LaGrand's time marked the (then) 26th best time in the country.
"It has been a while since Tricia Grant (diver), Danielle Ward (500 Free), Oksana Strelets (50 free), and All-American Tanya Korniyenko (200 butterfly) represented OU at the National Championships," Head Coach
Pete Hovland said. "She joins a very accomplished list of Oakland's best-of-the-best and we can't wait to see what she has in store March 17-20 against the best backstrokers in the country."
The NCAA Championships will stream on
ESPN3.
