Nike #HLBASE Players of the Week (April 13)
INDIANAPOLIS – UIC’s Joshua Figueroa hit .636 with two home runs and five RBIs in a series win at home to claim Nike #HLBASE Batter of the Week, while Youngstown State’s Collin Floyd earned his third Nike #HLBASE Pitcher of the Week honor of the season after tossing his fourth complete game of 2021 and allowed just one run and punched out 12 batters as the Horizon League announced its baseball weekly honors on Tuesday.

Joshua Figueroa | UIC | Redshirt Senior | Catcher | Chicago, Ill.
Figueroa helped the Flames to a series win over Northern Kentucky, slashing .636/.714/1.273 in a 2-1 weekend for UIC. Figueroa, who occupied the DH spot in all three games, finished the weekend going 7-for-11 at the plate with a pair of home runs, five RBIs and a team leading 14 total bases. The redshirt senior also notched a double and drew a trio of walks. The Chicago native blasted his first home run of the weekend in the first game of Friday’s doubleheader, a two-run shot to left center, before adding a ninth-inning solo shot in Friday’s second game of the twin bill.

Collin Floyd | Youngstown State | Senior | Left-Handed Pitcher | Akron, Ohio
Floyd earned his fourth complete game win of the season in the Penguins’ 2-1 victory over Milwaukee in game one of a doubleheader on Friday. Floyd allowed one run on five hits and matched his career high with 12 strikeouts over seven innings to earn his fifth victory of the season. He did not allow a walk as he threw 75 of his 89 pitches for strikes. The Akron, Ohio, native has now earned four-straight victories and tossed three-straight complete games. In addition, Floyd became YSU’s all-time leader in games started on Friday with the 50th start of his career. He surpassed Blake Aquadro's previous mark of 49, which had stood since 2013.
