Collin Harden Caps Impressive 2021 Outdoor Season, YSU T&F Career in Eugene

EUGENE, Oregon - Capping his 2021 outdoor season and impressive Youngstown State track and field career, senior Collin Harden placed 18th overall in the 400m hurdles at the 2021 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Wednesday evening at Hayward Field.
Running out of lane four, Harden finished with the sixth-fastest time in heat three after crossing the finish line in 51.06 seconds. The top two finishers from each of the three heats and next three fastest times advanced to Friday's finals.
In heat three, Texas A&M's Moitalel Mpoke won the heat while posting the fastest time of the event, running a time of 48.85 seconds out of lane six. LSU's Sean Burrell was second with a time of 49.06 seconds. Also advancing to the finals from heat three was Texas A&M-CC's Leonardo Ledgister who clocked a time of 49.82 seconds - the sixth fastest time of the day.
In heat two, USC's Cameron Samuel finished with the top time of the heat at 49.37 seconds while Auburn's Malik Metivier finished second (fifth overall) with a time of 49.79 seconds. Houston's Quivell Jordan nabbed the final spot in Friday's final, finishing with a 50.17.
In heat one, Texas's Charles Brockman III took first in the heat (fourth overall) with a time of 49.59 seconds. Close behind, Oklahoma's Isaiah Levingston was second in the heat (seventh overall) with a time of 49.83 seconds. Also qualifying for the finals out of heat one was Oregon's Jonathan Harvey, clocking a time of 50.16 seconds en route to a eight-place finish in the preliminary round.
