INDIANAPOLIS – Milwaukee’s Ari Miller and Wright State’s Megan Alders earned Nike® #HLVB Players of the Week honors in the first week of the regular season. Miller ranked in the top four of the League rankings in kills, points, hitting percentage and blocks during the opening weekend of play. Alders totaled a career-high 22 kills in the Raiders’ victory over Michigan State, averaging 3.64 kills per set for the weekend to lead WSU to a pair of wins.

At the home Panther Invite, Ari Miller was unstoppable as she finished with 51 kills (4.25 per set) and a .402 attack percentage in three matches. The junior also added 11 blocks on the defensive end. In the season opener, Miller totaled 13 kills in 23 swings, hitting .478. She followed with back-to-back 19-kill performances against UC Barbara and Valparaiso.

Megan Alders led Wright State to a pair of season-opening wins last weekend, including notching a career-high 22 kills in the Raiders’ victory over Michigan State. Her 40 total kills over 11 sets produced a 3.64 kills/set average as she also tallied double-digit kills against Canisius with 11 in the first match of the season. Alders ended the weekend with a .269 hitting percentage on 93 total attacks, the most on the Raider roster through three matches, and also added two digs and two blocks to her final numbers.
