INDIANAPOLIS – In week five of #HLWBB play, IUPUI and Northern Kentucky posted 2-0 records while Cleveland State was 1-0.

#HLWBB NEWS & NOTES

• In this week’s College Insider Women’s Mid-Major Top 25 poll, IUPUI moved up to No. 11 while Youngstown State remained at No. 20 and Cleveland State continued to receive votes.

• IUPUI is third among Division I teams in three-point field goal percentage defense as opponents are making just 22.9 percent of shots beyond the arc against the Jaguars.

• IUPUI’s Macee Williams (62.3 percent) and Youngstown State’s Lilly Ritz (61.6 percent) rank sixth and seventh, respectively, in field-goal percentage.

• Northern Kentucky’s Grayson Rose ranks sixth nationally in defensive rebounds per game and 11th in blocked shots per game. Rose leads the League in overall rebounds per game (10.5) and blocked shots per game (2.9).

• Destiny Leo is tenth in the nation with 21.1 points per game for Cleveland State this season. Leo also ranks 14th in three-point field-goal percentage (45.6 percent).

• Lilly Ritz had a big week for YSU as she averaged 22 points and 14 rebounds while shooting 62.5 percent from the field in two games last week. She led the League in field-goal percentage and steals during the week, and she ranked second in scoring and rebounding. She had 20-point, double-doubles in both games, starting with a 21-point, 15-rebound effort in just 25 minutes against UIC. She then did her part against IUPUI as she had game highs of 23 points and 13 rebounds.

• Breanne Beatty set a new career high in points twice last week, scoring 16 against Wright State, then 17 against Northern Kentucky two days later. The team captain led the team in scoring in Oakland's third straight League win against Wright State, hitting 4-4 three-pointers, grabbing five rebounds and dishing three assists. On the weekend, Beatty averaged 16.5 points per game, 6 rebounds per game and 3 assists per game. 

• Milwaukee ranks third nationally in free-throw percentage as the Panthers are shooting 80.7 percent from the line this season.

• Edecia Beck averaged 14.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 2.0 steals over two games for Wright State this week. Beck blocked a career-best two shots and added 12 points, eight rebounds, two assists, and two steals against Oakland. Just two days later, in WSU’s 72-56 win at Detroit Mercy, she recorded career-high marks in points (16), rebounds (9), assists (5), and 3-pointers (3), while also adding two steals.

• Esther Castedo paces RMU with 11.7 points per League game this season.

• Shayla Sellers scored the most points in a game by any Horizon League player since the new year rolled over in Purdue Fort Wayne's game at Milwaukee when she scored 24 points. The junior recorded a 9-of-15 shooting performance for 60 percent, while also shooting 75 percent from 3-point range with 6-of-8

• Jaida McCloud leads UIC with 16.9 points and 6.9 rebounds in #HLWBB contests this season.

• In League play, Green Bay leads #HLWBB with a 2.67 turnover margin and a 1.24 assist-turnover ratio.

• Detroit Mercy leads the League and ranks in the top 50 nationally with 10.1 steals per game. Sydney Searcy is in the top 30 individually with 2.75 steals per game.
