INDIANAPOLIS – Week six of #HLWBB play opened up on Thursday with Cleveland State, Northern Kentucky, Oakland and Youngstown State earning victories.

Cleveland State 85, Purdue Fort Wayne 59
  • Cleveland State improved to 6-2 in League play with an 85-59 home win over Purdue Fort Wayne on Thursday.
  • The Vikings shot nearly 65 percent from the field in a 30-point third quarter then shot 60 percent in the fourth quarter to close out the victory.
  • Nadia Dumas led CSU with 19 points while Destiny Leo, Amele Ngwafang and Barbara Zieniewska also scored in double figures in the win.
  • Sylare Starks scored a game-high 20 points for the Mastodons and Shayla Sellers added 15 points as the Mastodons fell to 4-6 in #HLWBB play.
Youngstown State 59, RMU 57
  • Youngstown State moved to 10-1 in the #HLWBB standings with a 59-57 victory at RMU on Thursday.
  • Trailing by one with one second to play, Megan Callahan hit a three-pointer to secure the win for the Penguins.
  • Lilly Ritz posted a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Callahan added 13 points while Malia Magestro and Lexi Wagner scored 11 points each for YSU.
  • Four Colonials scored 12 points each to lead RMU as the Colonials moved to 5-6 in #HLWBB play.
Oakland 80, Detroit Mercy 50
  • Oakland earned an 80-50 win over Detroit Mercy on Thursday night as the Golden Grizzlies improved to 6-3 in League play while the Titans fell to 0-10.
  • The Golden Grizzlies shot 9-23 (39.1 percent) from beyond the arc offensively and held the Titans to 0-7 from three-point range on the defensive end.
  • Aaliyah McQueen led OAK with 15 points while C'Erra Maholmes, Kayla Luchenbach and Alona Blackwell scored 11 points each.
  • Brandi Washington led the Titans with 14 points and Daija Moses added 11 points.
Northern Kentucky 77, Wright State 59
  • Northern Kentucky topped Wright State 77-59 on Thursday evening as the Norse moved to 6-2 in #HLWBB play and the Raiders dropped to 1-9.
  • The Norse defense locked in during the final quarter, holding the Raiders to eight points on 3-14 shooting (21.4 percent) in the final 10 minutes.
  • Khamari Mitchell-Steen led NKU with 23 points while Lindsey Duvall posted a double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds and Ivy Turner added 17 points.
  • Destyne Jackson (13 points) and Jada Roberson (10 points) paced the Raiders offensively.
