INDIANAPOLIS – Youngstown State’s Lilly Ritz earned her second Nike
® #HLWBB Player of the Week honor of the season while Northern Kentucky’s Khamari Mitchell-Steen picked up her first Nike
® #HLWBB Freshman of the Week award this week. Ritz led the Penguins to a pair of wins against RMU this week, posting two double-doubles, averaging 16.5 points and 14 rebounds and shooting 53.6 percent from the floor. Mitchell-Steen averaged 18.5 points and 5.0 rebounds per game and shot 65.2 percent from the field in two wins over Wright State.

In a sweep of Robert Morris, Ritz had two double-doubles and tied for the most rebounds in a game by a Horizon League player this season. In the road game on Thursday, Ritz had 16 points, 10 rebounds and two steals in 36 minutes as the Penguins won 59-57. In the game in Youngstown, Ritz grabbed 18 rebounds - which is tied for the most in the league - while also scoring 17 points in 30 minutes as YSU won 61-44. She added two blocks, a steal and two assists on Saturday. For the week, Ritz led the league with 14 rebounds per game, and she ranked fifth in scoring (16.5 points per game), fifth in field-goal percentage (.536) and fourth in blocks (1.0 per game).

Khamari Mitchell-Steen had a breakout week offensively for the Norse, helping Northern Kentucky secure back-to-back wins over rival Wright State. The Norse also extended their winning streak out to nine consecutive games this week. Mitchell-Steen finished the week averaging a team-high 18.5 points per game, along with 5.0 rebounds per game, seven total steals and shot 65.2 percent from the floor. In the first matchup against Wright State, she posted a career-high 23 points. In the second game of the week, Mitchell-Steen finished second on the team in scoring with 14 points, shooting 6-for-11 overall.
