INDIANAPOLIS – Cleveland State, IUPUI, Northern Kentucky, Oakland and Youngstown State went 2-0 in week six of #HLWBB play.
#HLWBB NEWS & NOTES
• In this week’s College Insider Women’s Mid-Major Top 25 poll, IUPUI remained at No. 11 and Youngstown State moved up to No. 15 while Cleveland State and Northern Kentucky received votes.
• In League contests, Youngstown State’s Lilly Ritz leads #HLWBB with 20.6 points per game and a .636 field goal percentage and is second in rebounding (11.1 per game).
• Chelsea Olson ranks first in League play with 5.5 assists per game and an assist-turnover ratio of 2.4.
• Destiny Leo leads Cleveland State and is second in the League with 19.9 points per #HLWBB contest.
• Northern Kentucky’s Grayson Rose paces #HLWBB with 12.1 rebounds and 2.9 blocked shots per League game.
• At 13-3 overall and 7-2 in League play, the Norse are off to the best start in program history in the Division I era and the best start in #HLWBB play in program history.
• Through the first five weeks of #HLWBB play, IUPUI ranks first in scoring offense (69.4 points), scoring defense (52.9 points), team field goal percentage (46.1), opponent field goal percentage (35.8), team three-point field goal percentage (35.2) and opponent three-point field goal percentage (26.1).
• Aaliyah McQueen averaged 11.5 points per game this week to lead Oakland to pair of victories over Metro Series rival Detroit Mercy.
• Megan Walstad leads Milwaukee with 13.0 points and 9.3 rebounds in League play.
• Green Bay’s Meghan Pingel is second in League play with 5.2 assists per game and third in assist-turnover ratio (1.7).
• Esther Castedo scored 13.5 points per game for RMU last week as the Colonials battled YSU.
• Purdue Fort Wayne’s Shayla Sellers leads the League with 2.7 three-point field goals per game and a .400 shooting percentage from behind the arc.
• UIC’s Kristian Young and NKU’s Khamari Mitchell-Steen pace the League with 2.4 steals per #HLWBB contest.
• Wright State’s Destyne Jackson averaged 17.5 points on 50 percent shooting (15-of-30) along with 2.0 rebounds and 1.0 steals over two games against Northern Kentucky this week.
• Brandi Washington scored 12.5 points and shot 52.4 percent for Detroit Mercy this week.
