INDIANAPOLIS – For the second time during #HLMBB play this weekend, each home team was victorious with Oakland remaining unbeaten at home during HL play, while Youngtown State and RMU each completed weekend sweeps.

GAME RECAPS
Youngstown State 86, Milwaukee 72
- Youngstown State earned a victory on Saturday to end the weekend 2-0 and improve to .500 in Horizon League play at 6-6.
- Michael Akuchie posted a career-high 33 points for the Penguins on 6-of-10 shooting from long range and also grabbed eight boards. Will Dunn shot 6-of-7 from the floor and hit all three of his 3-point attempts for 19 points, while Dwayne Cohill added 16.
- Milwaukee’s Jordan Lathon recorded a season-high 20 points hitting 4-of-5 shots from distance and DeAndre Gholston chipped in 13 and dished out six assists.
- YSU hit a season-high 13 3-pointers in the game and shot 54.2 percent from behind the arc and also went 25-for-30 from the free throw line, its most made free throws during HL play this season.
Oakland 81, UIC 74
- The Golden Grizzlies improved to 4-0 at home during Horizon League play and 9-1 overall against HL opponents.
- Jamal Cain registered his League-leading ninth double-double of the season with 26 points and 12 rebounds. Trey Townsend finished with 22 points on 10-of-13 shooting and Jalen Moore, the nation’s assist leader, recorded eight dimes to go along with 17 points.
- Damaria Franklin paced the Flames with 25 points on 11-made field goals and Kevin Johnson tallied 22 points on 5-of-6 shooting from 3-point range.
- With the game tied at 58-58 with under eight minutes to play, Oakland was nearly perfect offensively the rest of the way as it finished 5-for-6 from the floor, including 3-for-3 from long range, and hit all 10 of its free throw attempts to close on a 23-16 run.
RMU 62, Green Bay 60
- RMU completed a weekend sweep of the Horizon League’s Wisconsin teams with a two-point victory and have won three-straight HL home games.
- Michael Green III scored a season-best 21 points for the Colonials with four 3-pointers, while Enoch Cheeks posted his third double-double of the season with 11 points and 10 boards.
- Three Phoenix players scored in double figures with Cade Meyer leading the charge with 16 points while also grabbing eight rebounds, followed by Kamari McGee with 15 and Japannah Kellogg III with 11.
- The Colonials won the rebounding battle 43-30 and grabbed 17 offensive boards as they outscored the Phoenix 16-2 in second-chance points.
