INDIANAPOLIS – Wednesday marked the start of Week 3 of #HLMBB play with Cleveland State improving to 4-0 with a home win, Youngstown State picking up its third HL road win of the season and Milwaukee winning its second-straight game in League play.

Youngstown State 64, RMU 60

  • Youngstown State improved to 3-1 in Horizon League play and have now won seven of its last nine contests.
  • YSU was led by a pair of double-digit scorers with Michael Akuchie posting a double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds and Tevin Olison finished 15 points on 4-of-7 shooting from 3-point range.
  • Four RMU players finished in double figures led by Rasheem Dunn with 15 points, while Enoch Cheeks also posted a double-double with 12 points and 10 boards.
  • The Penguins won the rebounding battle 49-24 and outscored the Colonials 19-7 in second-chance points.
Cleveland State 65, Purdue Fort Wayne 58
  • Cleveland State remains perfect in Horizon League play and becomes the second HL team to start the HL season 4-0.
  • Tre Gomillion scored a game-high 21 points as he shot a perfect 8-for-8 from the floor with three triples, while Torrey Patton posted his third double-double of the season with 11 points and 10 boards.
  • Purdue Fort Wayne’s Jarred Godfrey scored 18 points with three steals and Bobby Planutis finished with 11 points on a trio of 3-pointers.
  • Neither team led by more than eight points the entire game, but the Vikings outscored the Mastodons 30-16 in the paint and 14-6 in fastbreak points.
Milwaukee 63, Green Bay 49
  • The Panthers pick up its second-straight HL road win to improve to 3-2 on the League season.
  • DeAndre Gholston paced Milwaukee with 16 points and Josh Thomas poured in 13 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the floor.
  • Kamari McGee scored a game-high 22 points for the Phoenix as he went 8-for-8 from the free-throw line and Japannah Kellogg III registered a double-double with 10 points and 11 boards.
  • Milwaukee led by seven at halftime but took control of the game in the second half as it went on a 17-1 run over a six-minute stretch as Gholston and Thomas combined for 12 points and the team went 6-for-8 from the floor during the run.
