INDIANAPOLIS – Sunday marked the fifth-straight day of Horizon League action and featured both Cleveland State and Oakland staying undefeated in HL action leading to a marquee game between unbeaten teams on Thursday, while Purdue Fort Wayne earned its second win in a row to reach .500 during League play.

  • The Mastodons won their second-straight game to improve to 3-3 in Horizon League play.
  • Purdue Fort Wayne finished with four players in double figures as Jalon Pipkins scored a team-high 18 points on 8-of-10 shooting, while Bobby Planutis added 16 on three triples and Jarred Godfrey went for 15.
  • Michael Green III registered his first 20-point game of the season for the Colonials with 20 points on 7-of-9 shooting including three 3-pointers and the duo of Kahliel Spear and Enoch Cheeks each tallied 13.
  • The ‘Dons led wire-to-wire thanks to forcing 16 turnovers with nine steals to hold a 17-9 advantage in points off turnovers.
Cleveland State 86, Youngstown State 80 (OT)
  • Cleveland State remained perfect in Horizon League play at 6-0 after winning the first overtime game of the Horizon League season.
  • D’Moi Hodge recorded 31 points for CSU with five 3-pointers for his second 30-point performance of the season and just the second during HL play. Deante Johnson posted his first double-double of the season with 14 points and 13 boards and Deshon Parker ended the game with 14 points and eight assists.
  • YSU’s Shemar Rathan-Mayes registered a career-best 21 points on 7-of-9 shooting, including 3-of-4 from distance, while Dwayne Cohill added 19 and Tevin Olison chipped in 15.
  • The Vikings sent the game to overtime thanks to a Hodge 3-pointer off a Johnson offensive rebound with 14 second left in regulation. CSU won the extra period 11-5 thanks to winning the rebounding battle 10-3 and shooting 5-for-7 from the free-throw line.
Oakland 86, Milwaukee 65
  • Oakland pushed its winning streak to four games and remains perfect in Horizon League play at 5-0.
  • Micah Parrish led all players in scoring for the Golden Grizzlies by tying a career-best of 19 points with three 3-pointers, while Jalen Moore, Jamal Cain and Trey Townsend each tallied 15. Moore also recorded 14 assists for his seventh double-digit assist effort of the season.
  • Josh Thomas led Milwaukee in scoring for the second-straight game with 17 points and DeAndre Gholston added 13.
  • The Golden Grizzlies registered 12 steals, the most in a Horizon League game this season, and outscored the Panthers 21-4 in points off turnovers.
