INDIANAPOLIS (November 28, 2022) – Cleveland State’s Destiny Leo earned this week’s Nike® #HLWBB Player of the Week award while Oakland’s Brooke Daniels picked up Nike® #HLWBB Freshman of the Week honors. Leo averaged 16.7 points per game in a 3-0 week for the Vikings. Daniels averaged 12.3 points per game in three contests for the Golden Grizzlies.

Destiny Leo helped the Vikings go 3-0 on the week, extending their current win streak to five games. The junior averaged 16.7 points per game on a .400 field goal percentage for the week. She led the Viking offense in all three games, including 23 points against Georgia State - her second 20-point game of the season and followed that up with 16 points on a .462 field goal percentage against Bellarmine and an 11-point performance against St. Bonaventure. The guard converted 11 three-point field goals on the week, with six coming against Georgia State - which is tied for the highest single-game total so far this season among #HLWBB players. Leo posted a perfect 7-for-7 clip from the free throw line on the week and is leading the League with a .955 free throw percentage this season.

Oakland freshman point guard Brooke Daniels set new career-highs with 18 points and seven rebounds in the Golden Grizzlies’ battle with the Siena Saints on Saturday in the TD Bank Classic in Burlington, Vermont. Moving into the starting lineup for the first time at the collegiate level the next day against the Stonehill Skyhawks, Daniels followed this up with a 14-point, three-assist, three-rebound showing in an 83-59 Oakland victory. Daniels also totaled five points and two rebounds in 19 minutes at Illinois on Monday. For the week, she averaged 12.33 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game.
