Milwaukee Earns Fifth-Straight #HLWSOC Title

INDIANAPOLIS (November 5, 2022) – No. 1 seed Milwaukee defeated No. 5 seed Youngstown State, 1-0, on Saturday to earn its fifth consecutive and 15th overall #HLWSOC title.

On a windy day in Milwaukee, Championship MVP Haley Johnson provided all the offense the Panthers needed to return to the NCAA Soccer Tournament for the fifth-straight season.
 
Johnson scored the lone goal of the contest in the 24th minute, her third tally of the championship, after scoring twice in Thursday’s semifinal. Clara Broecker and Senya Meurer assisted on the score.
 

 
Goalkeeper Kendall Edwards totaled three saves for MKE in the shutout win, also earning All-Tournament Team honors alongside teammates Meurer and Lainey Higgins.
 
The Panthers totaled 18 shots, including seven on goal, offensively. 12 of the 18 shots came in the first 45 minutes for MKE.
 
Brooklynn Kirkpatrick collected six saves for YSU in the contest, picking up All-Tournament Team honors along with teammates Taylor Berry and Abriana Rondin.
 
Milwaukee will learn it NCAA Tournament draw during the Selection Show at 3:30 p.m. ET on Monday, Nov. 7 on NCAA.com.
