INDIANAPOLIS (December 26, 2022) – IUPUI’s Rachel Kent earned Nike® #HLWBB Player of the Week while Wright State’s Makiya Miller picked up Nike® #HLWBB Freshman of the Week honors. Kent scored 24 points and added six rebounds and six assists for the Jags in a win over Northern Illinois. Miller averaged 7.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.0 steals for the Raiders this week.

Kent scored a career-high tying 24 points in the Jaguars’ 85-72 win over Northern Illinois. The senior helped the Jags set a school-record 17 threes with a personal career-high seven made threes, shooting 70 percent from behind the arc. Kent also led IUPUI in rebounds with six and dished out six assists while shooting 58.3 percent from the floor in the win.

Miller averaged 7.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.0 steals over two games at the Hawk Classic last week. The newcomer shot 40 percent from the field, which included a 50 percent-mark on 3-point attempts. Miller was at her best against tournament host Saint Joseph’s, as she totaled eight points, a pair of 3-pointers, three rebounds, and two assists. The Reynoldsburg, Ohio native added seven points, two rebounds, and two steals versus Eastern Michigan.
