INDIANAPOLIS – Sunday’s lone #HLMBB game saw Youngstown State’s Dwayne Cohill put on an incredible performance as he scored 43 points to lead YSU to an 88-77 win on the road for its first Horizon League win of the season.

  • Youngstown State salvages a split during the opening weekend of Horizon League play to start 1-1, while Wright State begins HL play 0-2 for the first time since the 2008-09 season.
  • Cohill set a career-high with 43 points on 16-of-19 shooting from the floor and hit all six of his 3-point attempts. It's the most points scored by a YSU player since Cameron Morse scored 44 in 2017 and the most points scored in regulation by a Horizon League player this season.
  • Malek Green was one rebound shy of a double-double for the Penguins with 15 points and nine rebounds and Bryce McBride added 12 points on 8-of-8 shooting from the free-throw line.
  • Freshman Brandon Noel scored a team-high 22 points for WSU on 8-of-11 shooting and AJ Braun registered 17 points. Amari Davis chipped in 14.
  • YSU trailed by four points at half before the offense exploded for 56 points in the second period. As a team, the ‘Guins shot 60.7 percent from the field and 17-of-18 from the free-throw line over the final 20 minutes of play.
