Horizon League Marketplace | Opendorse Partnership
INDIANAPOLIS (December 7, 2022) – The Horizon League officially launched its League marketplace today becoming the first conference to have a conference-wide marketplace exclusively for League student-athletes. The launch of the conference marketplace marks the next phase of the League’s comprehensive name, image and likeness (NIL) strategy for its student-athletes.

The website is an easy-to-use portal to connect HL student-athletes with interested entities to make deals compensating for the use of their NIL. It allows student-athletes to take advantage of NIL opportunities in a more efficient and seamless fashion and allows businesses and individuals to connect with student-athletes across the Horizon League’s 19 sports and expansive geographic footprint in one location.

Student-athletes can engage securely with fans via the Marketplace for in-person or virtual appearances at events, video shoutouts, private lessons, autograph signings, social media posts, and more.

Through the Horizon League marketplace and institutional marketplaces, student-athletes can create an individual Opendorse profile. Within this profile, fans are able to communicate NIL opportunities and details, which student-athletes can accept or decline. Student-athletes can also manage their finances and track income from each deal made through Opendorse on their individual accounts.

In July, the League announced an expansion of its agreement with Opendorse to provide all Opendorse resources including compliance, education, insights and the marketplace to its member institutions.

All of these components combine to provide an amazing opportunity for Horizon League student-athletes. Student-athletes will be able to utilize Opendorse’s first-class education modules, including the Masterclass Collection, to help build their brands and understand the financial impacts of NIL deals.  Member institutions and the League will also be able to track deals and provide content to help build brands.
