INDIANAPOLIS – Sunday’s #HLMBB action featured several rivalry games as Northern Kentucky and Oakland earned wins to stay near the top of the HL standings, while RMU and Milwaukee picked up victories as they jockey for position towards the end of the regular season.

Northern Kentucky 75, Wright State 71

  • Northern Kentucky earned a season sweep of Wright State for its third-straight win, including its ninth in the last 10 contests, to move into third place in the HL standings.
  • Sam Vinson recorded 20 points on 6-of-7 shooting for his third 20-point performance of the season for NKU. Marques Warrick finished with 16 points and Bryson Langdon added 12.
  • Three WSU players finished in double figures with Grant Basile leading the way with a game-high 25 points to go along with nine boards, while Tanner Holden and Trey Calvin each totaled 13 points.
  • The Norse were very efficient offensively as they shot 58.0 percent from the floor, including shooting 68.6 percent from inside the arc, as it outscored the Raiders 40-26 in the paint.
RMU 73, Youngstown State 68
  • RMU stopped a short two-game losing skid on Sunday and in the process snapped Youngstown State’s six-game winning streak.
  • Kahliel Spear led all scorers with 27 points as he went 10-of-11 from the floor with three triples for the Colonials. Michael Green III added 14 points and Matt Mayers finished 5-for-6 from the floor for 11.
  • YSU had four players post double-digit points paced by Dwayne Cohill with 18, followed by Myles Hunter with 14 off the bench, Tevin Olison with 12 and Michael Akuchie with 11.
  • The Colonials trailed 33-28 at halftime but won the second half by 10 points thanks to shooting 63.0 percent (17-for-27) from the floor and hit all three of their 3-point attempts.
Oakland 75, Detroit Mercy 59
  • The Golden Grizzlies remain in second place in the HL standings thanks to a win over its Metro Series rival at home to improve to 11-4.
  • Oakland’s Jamal Cain registered his League-best 13th double-double of the season with a career-best 32 points and 12 rebounds. Micah Parrish finished with 17 points and Jalen Moore posted his ninth double-double with 13 points and 11 assists.
  • Antoine Davis led the Titans with 18 points with four 3-pointers and Noah Waterman also hit four triples for 16 points.
  • Oakland trailed by as many as 15 points in the first half but cut the deficit to just two at halftime before winning the second half 45-27. The Golden Grizzlies capitalized near the basket as they outscored the Titans 36-8 in the paint.
Milwaukee 54, Green Bay 44
  • Milwaukee picked up its second win of the week with another strong defensive effort to jump to 7-11 in HL play.
  • Donovan Newby went 5-for-7 from the floor to score 17 for the Panthers and DeAndre Gholston chipped in 12.
  • Cade Meyer scored a game-high 18 for the Phoenix, while Nate Jenkins chipped in 15.
  • MKE’s defense shined once again as it held GB to just 26.0 percent shooting from the floor, including 22.7 percent from long range.
