INDIANAPOLIS – Youngstown State’s Lilly Ritz earned her third Nike
® #HLWBB Player of the Week honor of the season while Green Bay’s Bailey Butler picked up her third Freshman of the Week award. Ritz led the Penguins to a pair of road wins, averaging 17.5 points and 13.5 rebounds while shooting 60 percent from the floor. Butler helped the Phoenix extend its winning streak to eight games with a trio of victories as she averaged 10 points and five rebounds per game.

Lilly Ritz averaged 17.5 points and a league-leading 13.5 rebounds in Youngstown State’s two road victories last week. In a rivalry game between a pair of three-loss teams at Cleveland State, Ritz had 17 points and a season-high-tying 18 rebounds in YSU’s 77-69 overtime victory. Ritz was 8-for-13 from the field, had three assists, blocked a shot and recorded two steals in 43 minutes of action. At Purdue Fort Wayne on Sunday, she scored 18 points while adding nine rebounds, three assists, two blocks and a steal in a 69-55 victory. She went 7-for-12 from the floor and 4-for-5 from the free-throw line. For the week, Ritz led the league in rebounding (13.5), while ranking fourth in scoring (17.5 points), fourth in blocks (1.5), fourth in minutes (37.9), sixth in field-goal percentage (.600) and ninth in assists (3.0).

The reigning Horizon League Freshman of the Week had another week to remember. Butler started the week with a career-high 14 points and four rebounds in just 23 minutes in a big win over in-state rival Milwaukee. Butler also impressed in wins at Oakland and Detroit Mercy. Against the Golden Grizzlies, the guard scored eight points, grabbed five rebounds, dished four assists, and had three steals. At Detroit Mercy, Butler scored eight again and pulled down a career-high six rebounds. In three wins, the freshman guard averaged 10.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.6 steals. Butler was efficient all week, shooting 55.5 percent from the floor and 33.3 percent from three.
