INDIANAPOLIS – Week 9 of the #HLMBB season ended on Sunday with Cleveland State claiming the No. 1 seed for the Horizon League Men’s Basketball Championship and at least a share of the regular season title. Purdue Fort Wayne climbed to second place in the HL standings with its seventh-straight win, while Northern Kentucky remained in the top-4 of the standings with a win and Detroit Mercy remained perfect at home.

Detroit Mercy 80, Wright State 75
- Detroit Mercy earned a weekend sweep at home to remain unbeaten inside Calihan Hall and improve to 9-6 in HL play.
- Antoine Davis poured in 31 points for the Titans with four 3-pointers for his League-best fifth 30-point game this season. Noah Waterman added 12 points and Kevin McAdoo chipped in 11.
- Two Wright State players posted 20-point games led by Tim Finke with 21 points on 7-of-11 shooting, while Tanner Holden ended the game with 20 on 10-made free throws.
- The Titans led by as many as 26 points thanks to shooting 52.0 percent from the floor, including hitting 14-of-27 shots from distance and held the Raiders to just 21.7 percent from long range.
Purdue Fort Wayne 81, Milwaukee 71
- The Mastodons claimed their seventh consecutive win to move up to second place in the HL standings at 13-6.
- Five Purdue Fort Wayne players scored in double figures as Jalon Pipkins shot 10-for-15 from the floor for a game-high 24 points. Jarred Godfrey tallied 17 points, followed by Deonte Billips with 13 on four 3-pointers, Ra Kpedi with 12 and JoJo Peterson with 11.
- Tafari Simms paced the Panthers with 14 points, while Jordan Lathon and Markeith Browning II each scored 10.
- Purdue Fort Wayne went 11-for-24 for 45.8 percent from behind the arc, the third-straight game with double-digit 3-pointers, and held just MKE to just 27.8 percent shooting from distance.
Northern Kentucky 71, Oakland 66
- The Norse salvaged a split of the weekend to remain in the top-4 of the Horizon League standings at 12-6.
- Marques Warrick tallied 27 points for the Norse for his highest output during an HL game this season on 10-of-21 shooting. Adrian Nelson added 10 points and nine rebounds off the bench.
- Oakland’s Jamal Cain registered his 14th 20-point performance of the season with 22 points along with eight rebounds, while Jalen Moore recorded 16 points and nine assists.
- Northern Kentucky forced 23 turnovers with 13 steals and held a 34-9 advantage in points off turnovers.
Cleveland State 79, Green Bay 67
- Cleveland State secured the No. 1 seed for the Horizon League Men’s Basketball Championship for the second year in a row with a weekend sweep on the road in Wisconsin.
- Tre Gomillion posted his second-straight 20-point performance for the Vikings with 27 points on 11-of-13 shooting. Yahel Hill added 15 points off the bench and D’Moi Hodge scored 11.
- Green Bay’s Cade Meyer fell one rebound shy of a double-double with 20 points and nine rebounds, while Kamari McGee tallied 16 and Ryan Claflin recorded 12.
- The Vikings shot 62.5 percent from the floor, its second-best percentage of the season, including a blistering 69.6 percent in the second half.
