INDIANAPOLIS – Following the end of the regular season on Saturday, the Horizon League revealed the bracket for the 2022 Keeps Horizon League Men’s Basketball Championship which culminates March 7-8 at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum.

Cleveland State and Purdue Fort Wayne claimed a share of the regular season title on Saturday as the Vikings earned the No. 1 seed, while the Mastodons will be the No. 2 seed for the #HLMBB Championship. Both teams ended the season with 15-6 records during HL play, but the Vikings won two out of three games over the ‘Dons this season to claim the top seed for the second-straight season. Purdue Fort Wayne claimed its first regular season title in only its second season of competition in the Horizon League after joining the HL prior to the 2020-21 season as it ended the regular season on a nine-game winning streak. Cleveland State will share the regular season title for the second year in a row.

Northern Kentucky secured the No. 3 seed and a first-round bye for the second-straight season after finishing the League season with a 14-6 mark and comes into the tournament having won 12 of its last 14 games. Wright State earned the fourth and final home quarterfinal game with a weekend sweep at the Nutter Center to end the regular season tying for the most wins during League play with 15.

The top-four seeds earn a bye to the quarterfinals and a home game on Thursday, March 3. The quarterfinal round winners will advance to the semifinals on March 7 at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum.

Oakland is the No. 5 seed for the Keeps Horizon League Men’s Basketball Championship after claiming a win over first-place CSU, 65-57, in the regular-season finale to close the season with a 12-7 HL record. Detroit Mercy comes in as the No. 6 seed with a 10-7 record having ended the regular season winning three out of its last four #HLMBB contests. Youngstown State is the No. 7 seed with a 12-9 record during HL play and will host a first round game on campus for the third year in a row. All three teams will host first round matchups on Tuesday, March 1.

UIC finished as the No. 8 seed but will travel to No. 9 seed Milwaukee for the final first round game as the Flames waived their right to host all League championship events for the remainder of the 2022 winter and spring championships. Rounding out the seeds are RMU at No. 10, Green Bay at No. 11 and IUPUI at No. 12.

The 2022 Keeps Horizon League Basketball Championships will begin March 1 and 3 at campus sites and eight teams – four men and four women – will look to advance to Indianapolis and #REACHtheHORIZON on March 7-8 at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum.

Tuesday, March 1 begins first-round action with four games as No. 5 Oakland will host No. 12 IUPUI, No. 6 Detroit Mercy welcomes No. 11 Green Bay, No. 7 seed Youngstown State will face No. 10 RMU and No. 8 UIC will travel to No. 9 seed Milwaukee.

Every game of the tournament will be carried on ESPN networks with the first round and quarterfinal games streamed on ESPN+. The first semifinal game in Indianapolis will be on ESPNU starting at 7 p.m. ET on March 7 followed by semifinal No. 2 on ESPN2 at 9:30 p.m. ET. The championship game will broadcast on either ESPN or ESPN2 at 7 p.m. ET on Tuesday, March 8.
