INDIANAPOLIS – The first #HLMBB games of February were highlighted by Youngstown State picking up its third-straight win and UIC ending a four-game losing streak.

Youngstown State 61, IUPUI 55
- Youngstown State won its third HL game in a row and is above .500 in Horizon League play for the first time since early January.
- Four YSU players finished in double figures led by Dwayne Cohill with 14 points of 5-of-7 shooting from the floor and Michael Akuchie posting a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Myles Hunter added 12 off the bench and Shemar Rathan-Mayes chipped in 11.
- B.J. Maxwell recorded a season-best 22 points for IUPUI with a trio of 3-pointers, while Bakari LaStrap scored 15 points.
- The Penguins outscored the Jags 16-2 in points off turnovers and held a 16-4 advantage in made free throws.
UIC 80, RMU 75
- The Flames snapped a four-game losing skid and improved to 4-7 in Horizon League play.
- Kevin Johnson scored a team-high 18 points with three triples for UIC, while Damaria Franklin finished with 16 points and eight rebounds and Jalen Warren tallied 15 off the bench.
- RMU’s Kahliel Spear led all scorers with 23 points and also grabbed 13 boards for his fifth double-double of the season. Justin Winston hit 3-of-4 shots from long range for 19 points off the bench and Michael Green III added 16.
- The Colonials hit a 3-pointer to make it a one-point game with 3:20 left in regulation, but UIC was able to hold off the comeback thanks to hitting 7-of-10 free throws down the stretch.
