INDIANAPOLIS – Friday’s #HLMBB action saw all four home teams come out on top with Northern Kentucky extending its win streak to six games in overtime and Cleveland State jumping back on top of the HL standings. Wright State picked up its 10th Horizon League victory and Purdue Fort Wayne got back above .500 in HL play with a come-from-behind victory.

Wright State 90, Detroit Mercy 59
  • The Raiders become the second HL team to reach double-digit wins during League play and are now 10-4 with its second win in a row.
  • Grant Basile led all scorers with 29 points for Wright State on 12-of-15 shooting from the floor and grabbed eight rebounds. Wright State finished with five players in double figures as Tanner Holden recorded 15, while AJ Braun, Trey Calvin and Andrew Welage each tallied 11.
  • Detroit Mercy’s D.J. Harvey registered his first 20-point performance of the season with 20 points on 6-of-8 shooting. Antoine Davis ended the game with 15 points and four assists.
  • WSU posted its third 90-point game during Horizon League play this season, while no other team in the HL has more than one.
Purdue Fort Wayne 70, Milwaukee 60
  • Purdue Fort Wayne snapped a two-game losing skid in comeback fashion to get back above .500 in Horizon League play at 7-6.
  • Four Mastodons finished in double figures with Jalon Pipkins leading the charge with 15 points, while Damian Chong Qui tallied 12 and Bobby Planutis his three triples for 11 points.
  • DeAndre Gholston paced the Panthers with a game-high 22 points with four 3-pointers and Patrick Baldwin Jr. returned to the lineup for the first time in eight games and finished with 13.
  • The Mastodons trailed by as many as 10 points midway through the second half but finished the rest of the game shooting 10-for-15 from the floor, including 4-for-7 from long range, and hitting 11-of-12 free throw attempts.
Northern Kentucky 87, Oakland 78 (OT)
  • In the game of the night, Northern Kentucky picked up its sixth win in a row to move to 8-4 in Horizon League play and handed Oakland just its second HL loss.
  • NKU had two players record 20-point performances as Trevon Faulkner scored 26 points, his highest total in a HL game this season, with 12 made free throws and Sam Vinson recorded 20 points on four triples for his second career 20-point game.
  • Jalen Moore led four Oakland players in double figures with 24 points on six 3-pointers along with eight rebounds and seven assists. Micah Parrish finished with 20 points and Jamal Cain registered his League-best 10th double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds.
  • The Norse trailed by 12 at halftime but rallied back to take a 68-61 lead with just over 90 seconds left in regulation before the Golden Grizzlies forced overtime on a Moore 3-pointer at the buzzer. NKU took control in overtime after Chris Brandon made a put back layup with 13 seconds on the clock to make the score 82-78 followed by the Norse hitting 5-of-6 free throws over the final eight seconds of action.
Cleveland State 85, Green Bay 69
  • The Vikings rebounded from just their second HL loss of the season with a win at home to jump back on top of the HL standings at 11-2.
  • CSU’s Torrey Patton shot 7-for-11 from the floor for a team-best 16 points and Jayson Woodrich hit three 3-pointers for 15 points, while Yahel Hill and D’Moi Hodge each tallied 11.
  • Three Phoenix players scored in double figures as Nate Jenkins registered 19 points, Cade Meyer recorded 17 and Emmanuel Ansong ended the game with 17 points and eight boards.
  • Cleveland State had its most efficient shooting night of the season as the team shot 63.5 percent from the floor (33-52) and 56.3 percent from distance (9-16), both season-high marks for the Vikings.
