Nike #HLMBB Players of the Week (February 7)
INDIANAPOLIS – Wright State’s Grant Basile averaged 22.5 points and 9.5 rebounds, while shooting 72.0 percent from the floor to help lead the Raiders to a weekend sweep at home to earn Nike® #HLMBB Player of the Week, while Green Bay’s Cade Meyer averaged 15.0 points for the Phoenix including a career-best 17 points to collect Nike® #HLMBB Freshman of the Week as the Horizon League announced its men’s basketball weekly honors on Monday.

Grant Basile | Wright State | Redshirt Junior | Forward | Pewaukee, Wis.
Basile recorded back-to-back double-digit scoring contests as he helped lead the Raiders to a pair of home wins. Basile started the weekend with a game-high 29 points against Detroit Mercy as he scored 14 of his 29 in the first half and finished the night shooting 12-of-15 from the floor with a 5-of-6 mark from the free throw line. He added a game-best eight rebounds as he became the 22nd member of Wright State's 500 rebound club with a first half rebound. He followed that up on Saturday with his seventh double-double of the season against League-leading Oakland with a strong second half, scoring all but four of his 16 points in the final 20 minutes and grabbed 11 rebounds. Basile finished the weekend leading the HL in scoring at 22.5 points and shooting a League-best 72 percent (18-of-25) from the floor while pulling down 19 rebounds and adding four assists and a trio of blocks. He now has scored in double figures in 21 of 24 contests with 10 games of 20 or more points, which is tied for the second-most in the Horizon behind teammate Tanner Holden.
#HLMBB Freshman of the Week
Cade Meyer | Green Bay | Freshman | Forward | Monroe, Wis.
Meyer had another strong weekend for Green Bay despite losses at Cleveland State and Purdue Fort Wayne. The forward started the week with a career-high 17 points, six rebounds, and three assists on 7-of-14 shooting at Cleveland State. He followed that performance up with 13 points and three rebounds in a loss at Purdue Fort Wayne. Across the two games, Meyer averaged 15.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.5 assists on 47.8-percent shooting. Meyer has come on strong in the second half of the season for the Phoenix. In his last seven games, he's averaging 14.4 points and 7.0 rebounds, compared to 5.5 points and 3.0 rebounds in his first 15 contests.
