Nike #HLBASE Players of the Week (March 15)
INDIANAPOLIS – Wright State’s Alec Sayre recorded nine hits, four for extra bases, and hit .563 to lead the Raiders to a series win at home to collect Nike #HLBASE Batter of the Week, while Milwaukee’s Riley Frey tossed 6.2 scoreless innings with eight strikeouts on the road to earn Nike #HLBASE Pitcher of the Week as the Horizon League announced its baseball weekly honors on Tuesday.

Alec Sayre | Wright State | Sophomore | Outfielder | Dover, Ohio
Sayre helped Wright State to a 3-1 record and a series win against Missouri Valley Conference powerhouse Indiana State by hitting .563 (9-for-16) with three doubles, one home run, six RBIs, and five runs scored. The Dover, Ohio native slashed .563/.632/.938 and went 2-for-2 on stolen base attempts over the stretch. Sayre tallied two or more hits in all four games, including an extra-base hit in the last three. The sophomore batted 3-for-4 at the plate on Sunday with two doubles and four RBIs, sparking an 11-10 comeback win against the Sycamores.

Riley Frey | Milwaukee | Sophomore | Left-Handed Pitcher | Oshkosh, Wis.
MKE collects its second consecutive Pitcher of the Week honor as Frey was lights out on Friday to lead the Panthers to a 6-2 win over Dayton in their lone contest of the weekend. The sophomore earned the win, tossing 6.2 scoreless innings and scattering just three hits. Frey struck out eight and walked three in the win. The lefty currently leads the Horizon League with two wins and ranks fourth in innings pitched (21.2) and third in strikeouts (24).
