Wright State Earns No. 1 Seed, Field Set for 2022 #HLBASE Championship

2022 #HLBASE Championship Bracket
INDIANAPOLIS – Wright State (20-9) earned the Horizon League baseball regular season title and the No. 1 seed in the championship as seeding for the championship was announced on Saturday with the end of the regular season. The battle for the title will begin Wednesday, May 25 in Dayton.

The Raiders clinched their fourth-straight #HLBASE regular season title and will face the lowest-remaining seed from day one at 11 a.m. ET on Thursday, May 26.

Oakland (18-11) secured the No. 2 seed and will also receive a first-round bye. The Golden Grizzlies will open championship action on Thursday, May 26 at 3 p.m. ET against the highest-remaining seed from Wednesday’s games.

UIC (14-11) earned the No. 3 seed in the championship, ending the regular season with a victory at Youngstown State on Saturday. The Flames will face the No. 6 seed Northern Kentucky (11-17) in game two on Wednesday, May 25, scheduled for 4 p.m. ET. During the regular season, the two teams split four regular season games.

Purdue Fort Wayne (13-15) picked up the No. 4 seed in its first-ever appearance in the championship. The Mastodons will battle No. 5 seed Youngstown State (12-16) in the opening game of the championship at noon ET on Wednesday, May 25. The Penguins won two of three regular season contests with Purdue Fort Wayne. Both contests on Wednesday are elimination games.
