Green Bay Men's Golf and UIC Women's Tennis Earn 2022 Horizon League Raise Your Sights Awards
INDIANAPOLIS – The Horizon League Raise Your Sights award winners have been announced for the 2021-22 academic year with Green Bay men’s golf and UIC women’s tennis earning the award. The honor is given annually to the top academic male and female team in the Horizon League, based on combined grade point average (GPA) from the current academic year. UIC women’s tennis led the League with a 3.88 GPA for the academic year while Green Bay men’s golf was the top men’s team in the League with a 3.714 GPA.
“I want to congratulate the UIC women’s tennis team and the Green Bay men’s golf team, as well as all of our institutional top teams, for their outstanding academic achievements this year,” Horizon League Commissioner Julie Roe Lach said. “It is extraordinary to see all these student-athletes excel academically. This is a tremendous accomplishment and we are proud to recognize these student-athletes for their commitment to academics, as well as athletics.”
The top academic male and female teams from each member institution are also recognized by the Horizon League. 13 different League sports were represented with men’s golf receiving the most representation on the list with five programs while four women’s tennis teams and three men’s tennis were recognized. Women’s golf and women’s basketball each had two teams earn Raise Your Sights awards while baseball, men’s cross country, men’s soccer, men’s swimming and diving, volleyball, women’s cross country, women’s soccer and women’s swimming and diving each posted one team on the list.
