INDIANAPOLIS (September 28, 2022) – Northern Kentucky’s Anna Burke and Wright State’s Lainey Stephenson earned this week’s Nike® #HLVB awards. Burke led the League with 6.67 digs per set and 1.0 aces per set as the Norse opened League play with a pair of road victories. Stephenson paced #HLVB with 12.7 assists in a 2-0 road weekend for the Raiders.

Anna Burke anchored the Norse defensively in back-to-back Horizon League sweeps against Oakland and Cleveland State this past weekend. The senior totaled 40 overall digs, including a 6.67 digs per set rate. She additionally tallied six service aces and 11 assists in the two conference wins. Burke is rapidly approaching the 1,000-career dig mark, currently sitting with 880.

Lainey Stephenson led Wright State to a pair of road victories to open Horizon League play last weekend, sweeping Cleveland State and defeating Oakland in four sets. Stephenson passed out 89 total assists, including 40 in the Friday night victory to move into third place in Wright State program history in career assists. Stephenson followed up her 40 assists on Friday with 49 pass outs Saturday, finishing the weekend with a 12.71 assists/set average while adding 21 digs (3.0/set) – 12 of which came on Saturday as she recorded her eighth double-double in 12 matches played. Stephenson also tallied five kills, four blocks and a service ace to her final weekend stat line.
