INDIANAPOLIS – Cleveland State, Green Bay and Youngstown State posted 2-0 records in week three of #HLWBB play.

#HLWBB NEWS & NOTES

  • In this week’s College Insider Women’s Mid-Major Top 25 poll, Cleveland State moved up to No. 5 while Green Bay remained at No. 12, Youngstown State moved up to No. 19 and Northern Kentucky received votes.
  • Cleveland State extended its winning streak to 15 games this week, moving to 6-0 in League play. Destiny Leo leads #HLWBB with 19.2 points per game in League action while the Vikings pace the League in several categories, including scoring offense (79.3), team field goal percentage (49.0), opponent field goal percentage (31.5), team rebounds (42.3) and blocked shots (4.5) in #HLWBB play.
  • Green Bay’s Bailey Butler ranks first with a 5.5 assist-turnover ratio in League play and is tied for the lead in assists per League contest (3.7). The Phoenix lead #HLWBB in scoring defense (52.3), turnover margin (6.17) and assist-turnover ratio (1.75) in League action.
  • Lilly Ritz averaged 15.5 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Penguins to two road wins in Michigan. She also shot 65.2 percent from the field while averaging 2 steals and 1.5 blocks. Ritz was 6-for-9 from the field in a 13-point, five-rebound performance in just 21 minutes at Detroit Mercy on Thursday. Over 35 minutes in the overtime win at Oakland on Saturday, Ritz was 9-for-14 from the field to score 18 points, and she added 17 rebounds, three blocks two assists and two steals.
  • Jazmyn Turner led IUPUI with 15.0 points per game this week while shooting 54.2 percent from the field. Turner ranks second in scoring and field goal percentage in League play with 17.4 points per game while shooting 64.3 percent.
  • In two games over the weekend, Kendall Nead led the Panthers with 17.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. The sophomore poured in a career-high 19 points against Northern Kentucky on Thursday and followed that with her second career double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds in a win at Wright State on Saturday.
  • Kailee Davis led the Norse this week as the sophomore averaged 16.5 points per game over two Horizon League matchups. Davis had a strong game against Milwaukee, finishing with 26 points against the Panthers, tying her career-high in a Norse uniform.
  • Point guard Brooke Daniels averaged 15.5 points and 6.5 rebounds, shot 40 percent and added 4.5 assists and 3.0 steals for the Golden Grizzlies this week. She scored eight points in the fourth quarter of Oakland’s 71-59 victory over Robert Morris on January 5, finishing the contest with 13 points, nine rebounds and five assists. In a one-point overtime loss to Youngstown State, she tied a career-high with 18 points, 15 of which came after the halftime break, while adding four boards and four helpers.
  • Amaya Burch averaged a double-double with 10.0 points per game and 10.5 rebounds per game (21 total) with three assists helping Detroit Mercy to a 1-1 League mark for the week. The freshman posted her second career double-double and scored a game-high 18 points on 6-of-12 shooting (3-of-7 from 3-point range) while grabbing a career-best 16 rebounds to lead Detroit Mercy to a 64-58 win over Robert Morris on Saturday.
  • Purdue Fort Wayne leads the League with 10.67 steals per game in #HLWBB play while Mastodon Shayla Sellers tops the individual leaderboard with 2.5 steals per game.
  • Alejandra Mastral paced the Colonials with 13.5 points per game this week while shooting 55 percent from the floor and adding 4.0 steals per game.
  • Emily Chapman and Isabelle Bolender each posted 4.0 assists per game this weekend for the Raiders.
