Nike #HLMBB Players of the Week (January 16)
INDIANAPOLIS – Detroit Mercy’s Antoine Davis averaged 36.5 points including a 41-point effort at home with a school record 11 3-pointers to set the NCAA’s all-time 3-point record to earn Nike® #HLMBB Player of the Week, while Wright State’s Brandon Noel was named the Nike® #HLMBB Freshman of the Week for the second week in a row after averaging 27.5 points and 10.5 rebounds to help Wright State to its first sweep of the Wisconsin road trip since 2013 as the Horizon League announced its men’s basketball weekly honors on Monday.

Davis collects his second Player of the Week honor of the season and is now tied for the most awards in HL history at 11 with Green Bay’s Keifer Sykes. The redshirt senior averaged a League-best 36.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists, shooting 54.2 percent overall (26-48) and 50.0 percent from 3-point range (14-28) as the Titans split a pair of games with Youngstown State and RMU. He started the week scoring a game-high 32 points against the Penguins, going 11-of-22 from the field. The Horizon League’s all-time scoring leader then posted a season-high 41 points in the win over the Colonials, nailing 15-of-26 shots from the floor including a career and school-record 11 3-pointers along with tallying six rebounds. He hit eight triples in the first half en route to breaking the NCAA career 3-point record of 509 and now has 513 in his career as well as 3,232 points, third in NCAA history. He leads the nation in scoring at 26.2 points and has a HL best five 30-point games and 16 20-point contests.
#HLMBB Freshman of the Week
Brandon Noel | Wright State | Redshirt Freshman | Forward | Lucasville, Ohio
Noel notches his third Freshman of the Week honor of the season and second in a row after averaging 27.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per game as Wright State went 2-0 on the week during its Wisconsin road trip. Noel shot 14-of-17 from the floor against Green Bay on the way to a career-best 32 points, pulling down 10 of his 12 rebounds on the defensive glass as he tallied his fourth consecutive double-double. He added to his recent surge on Saturday, tallying 23 points on 9-of-12 overall shooting while adding a pair of 3-pointers, just missing out on another double-double with a nine-rebound effort in a win over HL-leading Milwaukee. For the week, Noel finished second in the League in scoring and rebounding, while shooting 79.3 percent from the floor and tied for League lead with four blocks.
