INDIANAPOLIS – The fifth week of #HLWBB continued with Youngstown State outlasting Green Bay to maintain second place in League standings. Northern Kentucky, Milwaukee, Cleveland State, and IUPUI also pick up wins Friday night.

Northern Kentucky 75, Purdue Fort Wayne 69
  • Northern Kentucky improves to 5-4 in League play with a six-point win over Purdue Fort Wayne.
  • Ivy Turner had a team-high 19 points, adding four rebounds and three steals as she helped the Norse seal the victory.
  • The Mastodons had three players in double figures, with Amellia Bromenschenkel having a team-high 19 points.
  • The Norse were efficient on the floor as they finished the game shooting 52.9 percent from the field.
Milwaukee 72, RMU 60
  • Milwaukee earns a win at home against the Colonials, 72-60, jumping above .500 in in Horizon League action.
  • Megan Walstad dominated in the paint for MKE finishing with her second consecutive double-double, scoring 17 points and securing 16 rebounds.
  • For the Colonials, Phoenix Gedeon posted her eighth double-double of the season scoring 20 points and grabbing 10 boards.
  • Second-chance opportunities were huge for the Panthers as they bested RMU 19-7 in that category.
Cleveland State 103, Wright State 72
  • The Vikings remain atop the League with a dominant 103-72 win over Wright State.
  • Destiny Leo continues her impressive season dropping 31 points, as she was 72.7 percent from beyond the arch (8-11).
  • Lauren Scott scored a team-best 15 points and grabbed three rebounds for the Raiders.
  • Cleveland State won the paint battle tonight, outscoring Wright State 50-14 down low.
IUPUI 74, Detroit Mercy 64
  • The Jags pick up their 10th win on the year and sixth in League play, beating Detroit Mercy 74-64 at home.
  • Four starters for the Jags scored in double figures. Natalie Anderson had 17, hitting over 80 percent from three (5-6).
  • Irene Murua of Detroit Mercy tallied 17 points on the night, adding three boards, three assists, and two steals.
  • IUPUI took advantage of the Titans’ miscues as they bested Detroit Mercy 22-10 off turnovers.
Youngstown State 63, Green Bay 60
  • Youngstown State holds off Green Bay as the Penguins bounce back with a big win 63-60 on Friday night. The two teams are now tied for second in the League standings.
  • Though in foul trouble, Lili Ritz led the Penguins in scoring, finishing with 14 points and seven boards.
  • Cassie Schiltz and Jasmine Kondrakiewicz both finished the night with 15 points apiece for the Phoenix.
  • In the closest contest of the night, the three ball was a difference maker as Youngstown State made nine to Green Bay’s six.
