INDIANAPOLIS (January 23, 2023) – Northern Kentucky’s Ivy Turner earned Nike® #HLWBB Player of the Week while Oakland’s Brooke Quarles-Daniels picked up Nike® #HLWBB Freshman of the Week for the fourth time. Turner averaged 18.0 points, 5.0 assists and 3.0 steals per game in a 2-0 weekend for the Norse. Quarles-Daniels posted 18.5 points per game in a 1-1 week for the Golden Grizzlies.

Ivy Turner guided the Norse to a 2-0 record this past week, defeating Horizon League adversaries Purdue Fort Wayne and Cleveland State in Highland Heights. Turner opened the week with a 19-point performance against the Mastodons, shooting 8-for-12 from the floor. Turner then posted 17 points on 6-for-12 shooting from the field with a perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line against top League foe Cleveland State. Turner added a game-high eight assists and three steals. She ended the weekend with averages of 18.0 points, 5.0 assists, 3.0 steals and 3.5 rebounds per game and shot 58 percent from the floor (14-for-24) and a perfect 7-for-7 from the charity stripe.

Extending her streak of scoring in double figures to six consecutive games, freshman point guard Brooke Quarles-Daniels averaged 18.5 points, 2.5 assists and 2.5 rebounds in a 1-1 week for the Oakland Golden Grizzlies. Playing both contests on the road, Quarles-Daniels had 17 points in the Wednesday victory over Detroit Mercy and matched a career-high with 20 on 9-15 shooting at IUPUI on Sunday.
