INDIANAPOLIS – Friday’s #HLMBB action saw Youngstown State win in front of a sellout crowd in the first nationally televised game at the Beeghly Center since 2010 to move into a share of second place. Cleveland State is also tied for second place in the Horizon League standings after a wire-to-wire victory, while RMU picked up a win for its second in a row.

RMU 85, Detroit Mercy 77
- RMU picks up its second-straight win to push its HL record to 5-6 and split the season series with the Titans. Detroit Mercy drops its second in a row and falls to 4-7.
- Five Colonials finished in double figures led by Kahliel Spear with 25 points on 10-of-14 shooting for his sixth 20-point performance of the season. Josh Corbin hit six 3-pointers to end the game with 20 points, while Enoch Cheeks almost registered a double-double with 11 points and eight assists.
- Detroit Mercy’s Antoine Davis led all scorers with 29 points going 9-for-11 from 3-point range, his fourth game this season with eight or more 3-pointers. Gerald Liddel posted 16 points and Damezi Anderson collected 13.
- RMU trailed 33-32 at halftime, but the offense exploded in the second half with 53 points as it shot 66.7 percent from the floor, including 7-of-14 from distance, and 10-for-11 from the foul line in the final 20 minutes of action.
Cleveland State 79, Purdue Fort Wayne 74
- The Vikings pulled into a tie for second place in the standings at 8-3 with the series sweep of the Mastodons. Purdue Fort Wayne falls back to .500 in HL play at 6-6.
- Tristan Enaruna paced CSU with 19 points and eight rebounds and Drew Lowder went 6-of-8 from the floor with three triples for 16 points. The trio of Tae Williams, Yahel Hill and Deshon Parker each scored 10 points.
- Damian Chong Qui recorded a career-high 31 points for Purdue Fort Wayne followed by Jarred Godfrey with 12 points and Quinton Morton-Robertson with 10.
- CSU never trailed as it shot over 58 percent from the floor for the second game in a row. The Vikings got it done down low by outscoring Purdue Fort Wayne 46-34 in the paint.
Youngstown State 77, Oakland 73
- In front of a national television audience on ESPN2 and a packed Beeghly Center, Youngstown State improved to 8-3 in Horizon League play for the first time since joining the conference and moved to 4-1 at home in League games. It marked the first time YSU hosted a nationally televised game in over a decade.
- Dwayne Cohill scored a team-high 25 points for the Penguins with 21 coming in the second half on 9-of-12 shooting over the final 20 minutes. Brandon Rush finished with 12 and Adrian Nelson fell one rebound shy of a double-double with 11 points.
- Jalen Moore led all scorers with 27 points for Oakland as he also had an impressive second half with 19 points and four assists. Keaton Hervey chipped in 12 points.
- Both teams shot over 52 percent from the floor but YSU won the battle of the boards, 30-21, and held a 16-8 advantage in second-chance points.
