INDIANAPOLIS – Saturday’s #HLMBB action saw Milwaukee earn its fourth road win of the HL season to move into first place in the standings, while Cleveland State and Youngstown State won at home to stay just one game behind the Panthers.

  • The Panthers earned a weekend sweep on the road for its fourth HL road win and moved into first place in the Horizon League standings at 5-1 overall.
  • Kentrell Pullian led three MKE players in double figures with 19 points. BJ Freeman scored 15 points with seven rebounds and Markeith Browning II ended the game with 14 points and five assists.
  • Purdue Fort Wayne’s Jarred Godfrey led all scorers with 22 points on six 3-pointers, which marked a season-high in triples. Damian Chong Qui tied his season-high with seven assists, while adding 16 points.
  • Milwaukee held a 42-22 advantage in points in the paint and the bench stepped up again as it contributed 33 points.
Youngstown State 105, IUPUI 74
  • Youngstown State won its second HL game in a row to move to 4-2 in League play as it has won five out of its last six contests.
  • Five YSU players finished in double figures paced by John Lovelace Jr. with 16 points followed by Dwayne Cohill with his first double-double of the season with 13 points and a career-best 10 assists. Malek Green, Bryce McBride and Chris Shelton each registered 12.
  • Chris Osten collected his fourth double-double of the season for IUPUI recording 19 points and 10 boards. Jlynn Counter tallied 11 points, while Daylan Hamilton and Marlon Taylor each finished with 10.
  • The 105 points were the most scored during HL play this season as the Penguins shot just under 60 percent from the floor. YSU also recorded 33 assists, the most in a game by a Horizon League team this season.
Cleveland State 82, Green Bay 77
  • CSU salvages a weekend split at home with a five-point victory to move to 4-2 in the standings, just one game behind Milwaukee.
  • The Vikings had a pair of 20-point performers as Drew Lowder led all scorers with 21 points on 4-of-6 shooting from deep and Tristan Enaruna tallied 20 on 7-of-10 shooting to go with six rebounds.
  • Green Bay finished with five scorers in double figures with Garren Davis and Zae Blake leading the charge with 18 points apiece. Cade Meyer fell one rebound short of a double-double with 15 points and nine boards.
  • Cleveland State won the turnover battle 13-4, the fewest turnovers by the Vikings this season, and outscored the Phoenix 19-7 in points off turnovers.
