Oakland Earns No. 1 Seed as 2023 #HLMSOC Championship Bracket Revealed

INDIANAPOLIS (November 1, 2023) – Oakland has earned the #HLMSOC regular season title and the No. 1 seed for the upcoming Horizon League Championship as the regular season came to a close and the championship bracket was revealed on Wednesday. The Golden Grizzlies will host the semifinals and championship on Nov. 9 and 11 at Oakland Soccer Field.

  • IUPUI will host No. 6 seed Wright State, who wrapped up the regular season with 11 points following a win over Northern Kentucky on Wednesday.
    • IUPUI won 2-0 against Wright State and on Sept. 9.
    • Wright State held a tiebreaker over RMU for the No. 6 seed after beating Green Bay 2-0 on Sept. 30.
  • Detroit Mercy will host No. 5 seed Purdue Fort Wayne as Detroit Mercy completed League play with 14 points following a loss to Oakland on Wednesday.
    • The Titans tied the Mastodons 1-1 in October.
