INDIANAPOLIS – Saturday’s #HLMBB action featured a pair of comeback victories as both Milwaukee and Detroit Mercy trailed by double-digit points during their contests before climbing back to earn wins.

  • Milwaukee remains just a half game out of first place at 12-4 after completing a 14-point comeback to force overtime and earn the win in OT. Oakland falls to 9-7 and is in a tie for fifth place in the standings.
  • Vin Baker Jr. and Ahmad Rand led the Panthers with 16 points each, matching a career high for Baker, while BJ Freeman registered 15 and Justin Thomas chipped in 13.
  • Four Oakland players finished in double figures led by Trey Townsend with 21 points, his ninth 20-point game this season. Jalen Moore closed the game with 19 points, Blake Lampman hit six 3-pointers for 18 points and Chris Conway totaled 10 points.
  • MKE trailed by 11 points with 10 minutes left in the second half before closing regulation on an 18-7 run to force the extra period. It marks MKE’s fourth OT game during HL play and it improves its record to 2-2.  
Detroit Mercy 76, Green Bay 71
  • The Titans earned a split during its road trip to the state of Wisconsin and have now won three out of their last four games to improve to 7-9 in Horizon League play.
  • Detroit Mercy’s Antoine Davis, the nation’s leading scorer, recorded his second-straight 40-point performance and his fourth of the season as he tallied 41 points on eight 3-pointers and 11-of-13 shooting from the foul line. A.J. Oliver ended the game with 15 points and Gerald Liddell added 13.
  • Clarence Cummings III paced the Phoenix with 20 points, his second 20-point game this season, followed closely by Zae Blake with 18 and Davin Zeigler finished with12.
  • Detroit Mercy trailed by four at halftime before outscoring Green Bay 43-34 in the second period thanks to shooting 18-for-20 from the free-throw line, compared to just 5-for-9 shooting from the Phoenix, over the final 20 minutes.
