INDIANAPOLIS – Saturday’s #HLMBB action saw Youngstown State finish its regular season home schedule with a win to remain in first place, while RMU also won at home to pull to .500 in Horizon League play.

  • The Penguins earned a weekend sweep at home over the Wisconsin schools to remain in first place in the standings at 14-4. The 22 overall victories are the most for YSU since the 1976-77 season.
  • Five YSU players finished in double figures led by Bryce McBride and Malek Green with 17 points apiece followed by Brandon Rush with 15, Adrian Nelson with 14 and Dwayne Cohill with 13.
  • Green Bay’s Cade Meyer registered his third double-double during HLMBB play with 14 points and 10 rebounds, while Randy Tucker fell one rebound short of a double-double of his own with 11 points and nine boards. Ryan Wade chipped in 13 points.
  • Youngstown State shot over 50 percent for the ninth time during HL play, finishing the day at 53.0 percent (35-66), while holding Green Bay to 36.7 percent from the field and just 3103 percent in the second half.
RMU 80, Milwaukee 60
  • RMU won its third game in a row to pull to .500 in Horizon League play at 9-9 and 6-3 at home against HL opponents. Milwaukee drops consecutive games in League play for the first time this season to fall to fourth place in the standings at 12-6.
  • Jackson Last and Josh Corbin paced the Colonials with 16 points each, while Kahliel Spear posted a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Michael Green III also finished with 14 points and Enoch Cheeks chipped in 11.
  • MKE’s Elijah Jamison recorded a team-best 13 points, BJ Freeman and Ahmad Rand both totaled 11 points and Kentrell Pullian finished with 10.
  • The Colonials were propelled by a 16-0 run in the first half that put RMU up 11 points late in the first half. RMU ended the game winning the rebounding battle, 45-23.
