INDIANAPOLIS – The #HLWBB regular season comes to a close this week with the regular season title and championship seeding on the line throughout the League. Cleveland State and Green Bay both extended their win streaks to nine games while Purdue Fort Wayne picked up two wins to move into a tie for fifth in the standings in week nine.

#HLWBB NEWS & NOTES

  • Cleveland State’s Destiny Leo leads the League with 20.0 points and 2.7 three-point field goals per #HLWBB contest. Leo also paces the League with a free throw percentage of 91.5 in #HLWBB play. The Viking are the number one scoring offense in League play with 78.6 points per game.
  • Green Bay’s Bailey Butler is averaging a League-best 4.3 assists per game in #HLWBB action, ranking second in assist-turnover ratio (2.2). The Phoenix are the number on scoring defense in #HLWBB play with 50.9 points per game.
  • Lilly Ritz averaged 16 points, 12 rebounds, 2 blocks and 1.5 assists in YSU's two games last week. She recorded her 15th and 16th double-doubles of the season. She posted 12 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks against Milwaukee on Friday, and she followed that with 20 points and 14 rebounds while adding two more blocks versus Green Bay on Sunday.
  • IUPUI has three players in the top six in the League for scoring in #HLWBB games. Jazmyn Turner leads the Jags with 14.8 points, Destiny Perkins averages 14.6 points and Rachel Kent adds 13.3 points per League contest.
  • Amellia Bromenschenkel was a big reason Purdue Fort Wayne went 2-0 this week, picking up wins over Wright State and Northern Kentucky. The junior guard averaged 19.5 points per game on an efficient 59.1 percent from the floor, 50 percent from 3-point range and 91.7 percent from the free throw line. She also added 5.0 rebounds, 2.5 steals, 1.5 assists and 1.0 blocks per game. She had just one turnover in nearly 77 minutes of action.
  • Lindsey Duvall was the center of the Norse offense once again this week, totaling 24.0 points per game after shooting 17-for-40 from the floor (43 percent). She also led Northern Kentucky in rebounding averaging 7.5 boards per game, totaling 15 over the past two match ups last week. Additionally Duvall chipped in shooting 85 percent from the free throw line, 2 steals, 1 assist and averaged 39.4 minutes per game over the past week.
  • Milwaukee sophomore Angie Cera connected on more than 57 percent of her shots this week from the field, including a 58.3 percent from three. She connected on 8-of-14 from the field and 7-of-12 from three averaging 11.5 points per game over the two games. She set a career-high for three pointers in a game with six coming against Youngstown State, going 6-of-7 on the night (85.7 percent).
  • Brooke Quarles-Daniels leads Oakland and all League freshmen with 13.0 points per game in League play. The rookie totaled 19 points in the Golden Grizzlies’ win over Detroit Mercy on Monday night, including the game-winning jumper with four seconds left.
  • Phoenix Gedeon paces RMU with 13.1 points and 9.5 rebounds in #HLWBB contests this season.
  • Wright State’s Emily Chapman is first among qualifying League players with a 3.5 assist-turnover ratio in #HLWBB action.
  • Detroit Mercy’s Emma Trawally Porta leads #HLWBB with 1.8 blocks per game in League play.
