Nike #HLTF Runner and Field Athletes of the Week (February 7)
INDIANAPOLIS – Detroit Mercy’s Dante Bassham and Natalie Block of Milwaukee earned Nike #HLTF Runners of the Week. Nike #HLTF Men’s Field Athlete of the Week was earned by Oakland’s Alex Hugh-Plott and Micah Carey of Detroit Mercy took home Nike #HLTF Women’s Field Athlete of the Week.

Dante Bassham | Detroit Mercy | Senior | New Baltimore, Mich.
Bassham won the 200-Meter Dash at the Akron Invitational on Saturday with a Horizon League Indoor best time of 21.70 seconds. Bassham also scored bronze in the 60-Meter with a 6.84 second time, the third fastest league time of the indoor season and his second fastest of the season..

Natalie Block | Milwaukee | Junior | Franklin, Wis.
Junior Natalie Block picked up a pair of victories this weekend at the Mark Guthrie Legacy Invitational, taking home the top spot in both the 200m dash and the 60m hurdles. In the 200m she registered a time of 24.93 while also winning the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.43. Her 8.43 in the 60m hurdles leads the Horizon League, while she is also among the conference leaders in the 200m. She is still tops in the league in the pentathlon and second in long jump.

Alex Hugh-Plott | Oakland | Graduate | Grand Rapids, Mich.
The Grand Rapids native broke his own school record in the Men's High Jump at 2.16m (7'1") which continues to lead the conference and now ranks the grad student 16th in NCAA Division I. Hugh-Plott commands the conference's top height by 3.75".

Micah Carey | Detroit Mercy | Senior | Sterling Heights, Mich.
Carey won the Long Jump at the Akron Invitational with a personal season-best distance of 5.64 meters. This is the sixth best distance of the indoor season in the Horizon League.
