INDIANAPOLIS – Cleveland State and Green Bay are tied for first place in the #HLWBB standings with three weeks left in the regular season.

#HLWBB NEWS & NOTES

  • In this week’s College Insider Women’s Mid-Major Top 25 poll, #HLWBB leaders Green Bay and Cleveland State each moved up one spot with the Phoenix at No. 13 and the Vikings at No. 14. Youngstown State ranked No. 24.
  • Cleveland State’s Destiny Leo leads the League with 17.9 points per game, a 94.4 percent free throw percentage and 2.4 three-point field goals per game. Leo ranks third in field goal percentage (45.0).
  • Sydney Levy led Green Bay this week, starting with a game-high 17 points, four rebounds in two steals in a low-scoring win over Detroit Mercy, 56-47. The Appleton native then backed that performance up with 14 points and four rebounds in Green Bay's 70-50 win over Oakland on Sunday. Since entering the starting lineup on Dec. 10, Levy has averaged a team-leading 12.8 points and led the Phoenix to a 15-1 record.
  • Lindsey Duvall had a game-high 24 points and 12 rebounds in Northern Kentucky’s win over IUPUI on Monday. Duvall posted 15 points and 14 rebounds at Wright State earlier in the week and now has 12 double-doubles this season.
  • Destiny Perkins scored a game-high 26 points for the Jags in their win at Wright State this week before adding 23 points at NKU.
  • Shayla Sellers led the Mastodons with 15.0 points and 7.5 rebounds this week as Purdue Fort Wayne collected a win over Youngstown State.
  • Freshman point guard Brooke Quarles-Daniels averaged 13 points, 6.5 rebounds and three assists in a 1-1 week for the Golden Grizzlies. Quarles-Daniels began the week with a 16-point, nine-rebound, six-assist performance in a victory over Milwaukee and tallied 10 points and four boards in the clash with Green Bay.
  • Bryce Nixon averaged 16.0 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.0 steals over two games for Wright State last week. The senior guard led the team in scoring, field goals (11), free throw makes (7), free throw attempts (11), and minutes per game (35.3) in the span. Nixon tallied a game-high 23 points on 8-of-15 shooting to along with four rebounds and two steals in WSU’s 80-70 victory over Northern Kentucky on Thursday.
  • Milwaukee sophomore Kendall Nead had a career-high 24 points in the team’s matchup vs. Oakland on Friday and finished the week averaging 16.0 points per game as she added another eight in the team’s win over Detroit Mercy. She shot 53.6 percent on the week at 15-for-28 and added 13 rebounds, four assists, and a steal.
  • Phoenix Gedeon helped Robert Morris go 1-1 last week while recording back-to-back double-doubles as she averaged 18.5 points and 13.5 rebounds per game. She opened the week by carding her ninth double-double with 14 points and 16 rebounds, five of them coming on the offensive end at Cleveland State then followed that up with a career-high 23 points and 11 rebound performance in a win at Purdue Fort Wayne.
  • Youngstown State’s Lilly Ritz leads #HLWBB in rebounding (10.6 per game) and field goal percentage (59.8) while she ranks third in scoring (16.5 points per game).
  • Irene Murua leads Detroit Mercy in scoring (11.3 points per game) and rebounding (7.8 per game).
