INDIANAPOLIS – Week eight of the #HLWBB regular season opened up on Thursday with Detroit Mercy, IUPUI and Youngstown State earning victories.

IUPUI 91, Purdue Fort Wayne 70
  • IUPUI moved to 10-5 in League play with a 91-70 home win over Purdue Fort Wayne in the Jungle on Thursday.
  • The Jags shot 53.8 percent from the floor, including 10-22 from three-point range, while holding the Mastodons to 2-24 from beyond the arc.
  • Five Jaguars scored in double figures in the victory with Destiny Perkins leading the way with 16 points with Natalie Andersen adding 15 points.
  • Jazzlyn Linbo posted a double-double with 19 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Mastodons.
Youngstown State 85, Oakland 62
  • Youngstown State improved to 11-4 in #HLWBB play and 17-7 overall with an 85-62 home victory over Oakland on Thursday evening.
  • The Penguins held key advantages in points off turnovers (24-8) and points in the paint (40-16) while shooting 54.1 percent from the floor (33-61) and 52.4 percent (11-21) from three-point range.
  • Lilly Ritz scored 31 points and brought in nine rebounds to lead YSU as she shot 15-21 from the field. Three other Penguins scored in double figures and Dena Jarrells dished out 10 assists.
  • Kennedie Montue paced the Golden Grizzlies with 14 points in the loss.
Detroit Mercy 61, RMU 55
  • Detroit Mercy completed a regular season sweep of RMU on Thursday, taking down the Colonials, 61-55.
  • The Titans outscored RMU 22-10 in the fourth quarter, shooting 8-10 at the free throw line in the final 10 minutes to close out the win.
  • Emma Trawally Porter scored a game-high 22 points for DET while Irene Murua added a 16-point, 12-rebound double-double.
  • Danielle Vuletich led the Colonials with 15 points and Phoenix Gedeon added 10 points and 12 rebounds for a double-double.
