INDIANAPOLIS (September 19, 2023) – IUPUI’s Nate Kaiser and Deion Guise, Purdue Fort Wayne’s Madison King, and Northern Kentucky’s Grace Biddle earned this week’s #HLXC weekly awards.
MEN’S RUNNER OF THE WEEK | NATE KAISER | IUPUI | SENIOR | TELL CITY, IND.
- Finished in first place at Jaguar Invitational hosted by IUPUI, his second win of the season
- Ran an 8K time of 24:24.97, finishing nearly 15 seconds ahead of the next runner
- Time was the eighth-fastest 8K in IUPUI history and the second-fastest of his career
- Paced the Jaguars to a first-place team finish
WOMEN’S RUNNER OF THE WEEK | MADISON KING | PURDUE FORT WAYNE | SENIOR | NOBLESVILLE, IND.
- Won the Jaguar Invitational, her second first-place finish of the season
- Ran a time of 17:16.91 in the 5K race
- Less than a second off her 5K personal best she set in the season opener (Mastodon Alumni Opener)
- Helped team to second place, only falling behind a ranked Butler team.
MEN’S FRESHMAN RUNNER OF THE WEEK | DEION GUISE | IUPUI | REDSHIRT FRESHMAN | DECATUR, IND.
- Placed 15th overall in the Jaguar Invitational
- Clocked in a personal best time of 25:36.22
WOMEN’S FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK | GRACE BIDDLE | NORTHERN KENTUCKY | FRESHMAN | MORROW, OHIO
- Finished eighth overall at Jaguar Invitational
- Set a new personal best by nearly 41 seconds with a time of 18:21.81 over the 5K distance
- Top freshman finisher at the meet
- Helped the Norse to a fourth-place finish as a team
